Screen Actors Guild Awards / Carol Burnett

I don’t watch a lot of tv, watch even less movies. But while I don’t watch a ton, I do try and keep up (probably because of social media) to actors, shows somewhat and movies a bit.

Have to say, these awards are my FAVORITE of all the awards shows. Everyone seems so happy to be there. It’s formal but not stuffy.

I LOVE the way they always open it - with actors in the audience telling their story about how they got started - and sometimes failed - and how they are an “actor”.

Tonight, I LOVED seeing Carol Burnett receive the lifetime achievement award. I have such fond and FUNNY memories of watching her variety show growing up. She still looks so good! And on that stage tonight she had me laughing - and crying at the end when she tugged on her ear. <3

Such a nice awards show! Anyone else watch?

Also though, SOOO sad to see how many actors passed this year. :frowning:

It really was a treat to see Carol Burnett and to see all those hilarious clips from her show.

It made me sad to think my kids probably don’t know who she is. We watched her show all the time as kids. It was so entertaining. I also like the SAG awards and enjoyed watching tonight.

She did appear on “Glee” in that one episode playing Jane Lynch’s mother. She was fantastic of course! At least I watched that with my daughter.

Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett all in a row. Remember that?

^^^ Ah, yes. Those were the nights that made being a baby sitter a piece of cake! Put the kids into bed, and settle down on the couch for two hours of real quality TV.

Carol Burnett is one of those rare personalities-- someone you respect as a professional at the top of her profession, but also someone who makes you feel like she’s a close friend, a sister.

Congrats to her on this huge achievement!
