Just out of curiosity, anyone here ever went from a 23-inch computer screen to a 15 inch, or a 17 inch laptop to a 13 inch Macbook air and find yourself having trouble staying efficient/keeping organized?

The reason I am asking is because I am having trouble adjusting back to using my laptop, or a normal one-screen desktop.
Having spent almost 3 months using a four 23-in monitor setup (2 top 2 bottom) more than 12 hours a day, I find myself having a lot of trouble keeping the same productivity when I use my laptop or any 1 or 2-screen desktops. Its like once you have the freedom of being able to see your email, several instances of browsers, several instances of excels, word documents, research articles, in addition to bloomberg + bbg messenger all at the same time, you get spoiled and the next thing you know, you find it really hard to work on one screen ever again.

If anyone ever experienced the same, discuss. :)

I had a multi screen thing going on this summer. Haven’t had the need to be productive on my laptop yet, but the transition definitely sucks. It’s a pain to be limited to one screen and have to alt+tab constantly as opposed to just glancing at another screen. The absence of a number pad by my right hand also sucks- slows down Excel efficiency (tangent: need to get Excel '03, can’t go back to MSFT’s butchered new versions).

Yep, going from dual 22’’ monitors to an 11 inch notebook really sucks. I need to buy new monitors. I just can’t fit what I need onto one screen anymore.

@giants Excel 03?!? Never had to work with more than 65536 rows?

I actually do use 03 most of the time for personal use, but it’s way too tedious to use for very large data sets, which is why 07 is sometimes useful (in my case it was most of the time this summer).
