screen names

I have been looking at all our screen names and was wondering how you all came up with the ones you use on this thread. There is a thread like this on the Parent Forum and it was fun to read so I thought maybe some of you would be brave and share how you came up with your screen name. Might be something fun to do while we are all waiting to hear everyone’s “news”.

I have to admit mine is very boring. Not imaginative at all, just my initials.

Uh, I guess you didn’t mean me, huh, wct? Signed, MTmommy.

mine is a reflection that I live in Minnesota

I use the name of my D’s favorite animal :)

Mine’s not too imaginative either. Lexa’s mom and my initials.

5pants is an acryonym using the first letter of each of our first names (my husband, my 3 sons, and my own)…5 represents the number in our family. Most of our holiday cards are signed “PANTS”…and in the past we have constructed letters from posterboard to be held up for our family picture (this way I didn’t have to identify identical twins, they corresponded with their letter, LOL).

wct-Great idea for a thread…should be interesting to read. Thanks for thinking of it!

SUE

Mine is also unimaginative…first name and initials. When I tried to set up my account a couple of years ago I was trying for jennyg (last name initial) but it was taken by someone else so I added my maiden last name initial in the middle… hence the s. Good luck to all those waiting for their letters. I’ll be doing the same thing next year at this time.

Mine comes from something my own mom told me a long time ago, once a mom, always a mom. :)

This is great. I hope we get to hear from everyone else!

mtmommy- You are so funny!!!

Boring…Mine’s first name and first initial of last name…

Mine is my first initial plus the Greek word meaning “doll”. My dad called me that ever since I can remember.

My daughter’s voice type and my number one job…anyone else get the feeling that our kids are far more creative than us?!

Boring, and really no thought went into it. My first name, and I’m a mom. People think I’m Jami’s mom, that I am a mom in jammies, all kinds of things, but I just had to pick a screenname and just came up with this one. S helped me pick a really neat on for Google e-mail, but I can’t remember it many times which is proving to be a pain.S’s screennames are much more creative, I assure you.

also boring and unimaginative…I have been blessed to have 2 children perform on Broadway and lucky enough to be their mom! Neither is performing there at the moment (my daughter is a soph MT at PSU), but hopefully, once again, I’ll truly be Bdwaymom!

Mine was a joke with my girls, with all the “hip hop” language, (which they love) 02 for “of two” and the z on girlz because I always make fun of how they put z’s instead of s’s and think it’s so cool. They got a good laugh when I showed them.

I grew up in Cato, NY. When I moved in high school I wore my letter jacket with Cato on the back, and people there started calling me Cato. Some of you may remember the old superhero the Green Hornet, and his sidekick was named Cato. The nickname of the sports teams at my new high school was the Hornets, and their colors were Green and White, so the name Cato was particularly appropriate there.

Thesbohemian is a play on a common misspelling of thespian combined with part of my family’s heritage. My mom’s side of the family are Sudeten Germans who were originally from Bohemia in the western part of what is now the Czech Republic. So, yeah … I’m literally half Bohemian besides roughly fitting the description of the more common use of the word. “Thesbo” is normally considered a derogatory slang term for a high school “drama geek.” Considering that my entire outward identity was tied up in maintaining a cheerleader/athlete image before transferring to an art school, I find it a fairly amusing abbreviation of the screen name. (In ditzy voice) Like, Omigod! It works on SO many levels! :)

Got your attention, didn’t I?.. Okay, I guess I have to confess, but I really do hate having been so boring with this choice…

I was a passionate theater major during my own undergraduate days and for the last, almost 21 years, a passionate Mom. Put the two together, and voila! It may also have something to do with the recognition that as I get older I need to make choices that I’ll actually remember two weeks after I’ve made them…There are days that I wish I had spelled it with an “re” instead of the more mundane “er,” but I’m learning to live with it…;-)

Great idea for passing the time, Wct!!

How cute! I thought I was being very clever by posting with a different spelling of our name, but my D gets e-mails asking if her mom is catsmom! Oh well, so much for staying incognito! And yes…we are still WAITING! I can only go back and read old posts at this time of year so much to see when letters came. I wish I knew something so we could arrange to visit somewhere over spring break.

Wow -

Are we addicted to this site or what??? thinking up NEW topics to keep in touch!
