Memorable conversation essay was one of the best essays I think I’ve ever written 10/10.

  1. Freshman/Junior Lit teacher- Had her for two (non consecutive) years. 8/10
  2. AP Chem teacher: best student in her class, currently her lab assistant. 11/10
  3. Counselor- I had three counselors over the course of HS. Prob generic, but the interview went well. 6/10

Reflection:

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Maybe passion for my major? Idk, I thought I was rejection for sure because of lack of liberal arts ECs…

Essays (rating 1-10, details): my common app was really good and so were my supplements, writing is my strong suit so I think I shone in this department (10/10)
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): I never saw my recommendations but I am really close to the people who wrote them, so I’m sure they were between a 8-9.

Recs:
Interview: I personally thought it went really badly, I was really nervous and didn’t think I connected to the lady who was interviewing me, but I guess it went better than I thought!

[aB]Other:**

Applied for Financial Aid?: no
Intended Major: undecided
State (if domestic applicant): CT
Country (if international applicant):
School Type: Private
Ethnicity: Caucasian (European)
Gender: Female
Income Bracket: Higher
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): didn’t really have any hooks except for that my college guidance counselor has known someone in the admission office for over a decade so that may have helped.

[aB]Reflection:**

Strengths: writing, personality
Weaknesses: GPA no question about it!
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: honestly I really think it was a matter of fit- I’m the head of the gender equality club and I’m taking a class of racism classism and sexism in America- these are things that Scripps really focuses on in its equality and diversity efforts. Also the geographic diversity of being from the east coast may have helped as well.
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: haven’t heard back from anyone else
