Another weekend wasted stressing about admissions. For all of you admission apologists out there, what do you have to say about this nonsense now? SDSU is on Spring Break and well as half of the rest of the country. Way to handle this about as poorly as you possibly could.
My admission status date is october 24, 2017… still pending… IS THAT BAD???

Can anyone comment on the SDSU experience for those who don’t choose Greek life? My daughter is social and will be involved in sports and other campus life, but joining a sorority just isn’t her thing and she wonders whether Greek life is so integral to SDSU culture that she’ll not like it as much or feel less included. I read only about 15% are in Greek so figured it must be just fine, but would love to hear any insights.

GPA 4.2 Fresh and sophomore 3.8 junior senior (I’m a dual enrollment student at my local community college and am in a program where my college units count toward high school credit and college credit and since some classes are difficult my gpa dropped)

@SmartGurl17 Daughter did SIR Friday, waiting til we visit next week (admitted students tour Monday) to make housing and meal plan decisions. Also, @norcalmom123 we have friends with a son at SDSU that joined and then dropped out of a fraternity because it was just too much partying with his major, and he is doing just fine. He’s made tons of friends and is very social, but is still able to focus on school while having a good time.

The dang decisions are released. I have happy news: I declined the SIR yesterday, one lucky bio major is goin to get it.
@norcalmom123 my brothers girlfriend is in a professional sorority, and I know some who are in sororities or fraternities but I know more who aren’t. There are tons of things to get involved in, she will be fine.
If we haven’t heard back yet, does this mean we got waitlisted/rejected?

just checked- my D was denied admission with an EI of 4380 to Enviro Sciences. 3.88 GPA and 1340 SAT
Rejected today for liberal studies
Son just denied admission to Mechanical Engineering with a 4200 EI. Very discouraging. He attended an extremely challenging, private, college prep school; lots of Honors and AP’s, awards, EC’s, etc., etc… He wasn’t even offered a spot on the waitlist. This does not seem right. Wish I had sent him to public school where he would have earned a higher GPA.
