@TotallyNotG: No, OOS applicants do not have to submit essays or list their EC’s. The application is not different than in-state applicants. Only difference is that OOS students pay double Cost of attendance so the $$$ factor.
OOS applicants are in a separate admissions pool so less applicants, less competition, higher admit rates since few matriculate due to costs.
Congrats to all accepted so far! Still hoping my DD gets in (I’m an SDSU Alum!). We are instate and she has a CSU of 4.4 and SAT 1320/ACT 28, so keeping my fingers crossed that they release more acceptances.
Son just admitted to pre-CS major; ACT 34 and 4.33 (W) 3.82 (UW) - but not sure of CSU GPA - will have total of 11 APs - 5 completed so far - with four 5s and one 4. V good essays - good ECs. 770 SAT Math subject test. Northern California. Congratulations to everyone who has been admitted so far. Now will do app for Honors College
@kikiob You are correct in that the Cal State system does require essay and ECs - but other colleges want this - so just put it down out of habit. There is information that about 300 students enter the Honors college each year - not sure if that is a limit.
@ejmcacmc2020: I think the all the early admission acceptances wil be complete by Friday December 20th and then the next big wave will be in Late February/Early March.
@simmer3454: Being from Rhode Island helps in that you are a full pay OOS student. Your SAT is a bit on the low side but within range for SDSU along with your EI (average 4459). It will all depend upon how your EI stacks up against the other OOS Marketing applicants.
For the people who majored in biology and got in for early decision was it a BA or a BS in biology? I applied for a BS and my application says pending. I have an EI of 4600 and im also from San Diego.
@simmer3454: You are within range but it really depends upon how your EI stacks up against all the other applicants for your major since they admit by EI and major. No supplemental documents can be submitted.
Cal States are need-blind which means they do not take your finances into consideration for admission purposes however, since you are an OOS applicant, you will be full pay at around $40K/year. Cal states offer no financial aid for OOS applicants other than Federal aid (Pell grant and student loans) if you are eligible so you are looking at a $$ gap of around $30K/year. How did you plan to pay if you are in need of FA?
