Same for my daughter. Environmental sciences major. Still waiting though accepted to UCI yesterday. We are in state.
Does CSU accept all locals or they have just higher chance to get in?
they add more points for the local
Okay. Thanks!!
I was admitted last Thursday. So excited! This was my #1 choice school. Going through the next steps, I recently found out we have to live on campus, (dorms) for two years. Mandatory. Idk why I have never heard or seen that before. I guess my lack of research and ignorance hit hard. I was only planning on staying in the dorms my Freshman year. I had other plans for my sophomore through my senior year. (Off campus-apartment living) The dorms Cost so much, the school also raised prices. I’m so discourage now. Idk what to do.
Thoughts?
yeah thats the downside for me asw
My D checked her portal today and still says pending but admission status date is showing March 12, 2021, which is the day after the acceptances went out last week. Before the status date was showing 1/25/2021. Thinking that they made a decision on her application and will be coming out soon. Any idea if it’ll be good news?

My D’s also …wonder what that means…
I hadn’t noticed that before. Ours say feb 5 but still pending. Hmmm thoughts?
I’m guessing it’s coming down to are more admissions coming out tomorrow? Or waitlist starting…
My D admission status date still shows 11/3/20 which was the date we applied. I don’t know if that is good or bad. Seems they haven’t even reviewed hers
My D is the same. Her status shows December 15th.
i think @Gumbymom mentioned this in another thread but they either make the decision on the spot so the status would remain our application date or they reevaluate an application/look at supplemental info so the status would be updated past the application date
Your #1 choice will be impacted by having to live in a dorm for one extra year? Sounds like an interesting ranking system. So has your #2 choice percolated to the top now? Many schools require two years in university housing. And renting in San Diego is far from cheap.
What supplemental items can they even look at. The applications were so minimal this year in what you could add.
honors college applications and maybe some extra stuff for competitive majors? but remember they could also be looking over an application a second time
The second year students do live on campus but they are apartment style housing, not dorm rooms. Cal Poly has implemented the same requirement for incoming freshman next year for a couple of the colleges within the school. San Diego is very expensive and SDSU is right in the middle of the city, it is not located in a cute little college town. It’'s big, crowded and can be overwhelming at times, as is most of California. Congrats on your admission to SDSU.
Can someone that was admitted last week share their Application Status Date?
