Agreed!
any political science majors hear?? so weird how they have taken so long. 4.1 w gpa
I’m a poli sci major and i heard but honestly i have only seen maybe two other people? it’s super quiet
I had an audition major and got my decision on Wednesday, I know of other people within that major who did as well
You are correct. You just missed the priority deadline and their are limited spaces available for incoming freshmen and current SDSU students.
I’ve seen quite a few on here and on Reddit. I applied for poli sci, in-state non-local, and I still haven’t heard back.
I haven’t seen anyone else with my major and I’m kinda confused.
I think only a few at most have been released so far
Doesn’t appear like SDSU sent any new acceptance today. Only nursing rejections. Can I ask those that have been accepted were you also asked to join the honors program ?
I’m curious about the comparison between UC Riverside and San Diego State University. My son was accepted to both and my gut says go with UC, but it seems worth giving it more consideration. (He was waitlisted from other schools and we’re still waiting to hear from others.)
same! i got accepted to sdsu honors and i was invited to apply for ucr honors. I have a feeling ucsd and ucd will be ultra competitive and idk if i’ll get in. What’s his major? My major is linguistics. My parents advised me to pick ucr for the stronger academic reputation but honestly idk how to compare them. Not too eager to live in riverside tbh but it’s an option
He was accepted undeclared to CHASS at UCR. I don’t know about SDSU. He was wait-listed at UC Santa Cruz, which is a lot closer to where we live. But it might be more of an adventure for him to live in Southern California, who knows? Davis would be better both by reputation and distance if I need to be there for some reason, but I’m not too optimistic now. (He doesn’t have a real focus in terms of majors, but seems to like liberal arts and social sciences. I’m a software engineer, and my wife used to be as well. He’s been exposed to computer programming from an early age and it doesn’t seem to be his thing, though he can do it and does pretty well in math.)
Thank you so much!!
Yes, I was accepted in December for economics and received an email that I was eligible to apply to the honors college.
I heard back last Thursday. Got accepted to the major!
leaning towards SDSU. The area/location is a lot nicer, a CSU is cheaper than a UC, the acceptance rate is lower, and the education seems better based on the things alumna from both schools have told me.

I appreciate your perspective. UC still sounds better to me, but they look pretty comparable. I’ll take a closer look at SDSU. I think we nearly picked them randomly for CSUs: Sonoma State as safety school, Cal Poly SLO as stretch goal, and SDSU somewhere in between. I have not given serious thought to the logistics of my son living so far from home for the first time.
Specific question: UCR seems to have a lot of commute-students. How does SDSU compare?
Quite the opposite. There’s been a new rule implemented in the past few years at SDSU that requires all first and second years to live on campus so not a lot of commuting until the last 2 years. That is something to note though as dorms are super expensive. I also heard many do stay and live on campus after the 2 years though since the cost of renting/living in SD is not cheap.
