Does this mean that the next wave will just be rejections or is there still a chance there is another wave of acceptances?

Thank you…I am hesitant to ask my kid to check her portal. She is still crushed from being waitlisted at UCSB yesterday.

someone just said they got denied for business so i’m assuming right now is waitlists and rejections ?
The replied and said they were actually waitlisted

The waitlist kind of looks like a denial until you read the text, which gives the option of waitlist. I didn’t see it at first. It’s a bit confusing because admission Status reads Denied Admission.

Daughter just waitlisted for Environmental Science. 4.1 CSU GPA. Several AP classes. 4 years of second language. 5 years of math.
She did not get admitted to any of the California schools she applied to, which we were not prepared for. So, if anyone has info about community colleges in San Diego or possible Cal State redirection schools, send them over. Our other choices are UH Manoa, which we have not been able to visit because of pandemic. Or UW, which is way over budget unless she can pull some magic scholarship out of thin air.
I don’t understand these waitlists, looking at their admissions dashboards, this gpa would be the CSU capped right? Average gpa of admitted (or maybe this is just enrolled) is 3.81. Even engineering is 3.82

and then looking at the percentages here, if you have a 4.0+ gpa, and your have a high acceptance rate major, why are the waitlist stats so high?

What am I missing? This year can’t be THAT competitive.
Still pending, considered SDSU a safety. 4.0, 4.2 math/science, in a 60% acceptance major.

I had 7 APs, a leadership position, a job, lots of extracurriculars, and a community college course in business. Honestly, i was expecting to get in because I already got into Cal Poly SLO but i guess I shouldn’t have been so confident.

I am so sorry. We just found out yesterday that if you didn’t get any merit with your UW acceptance you will likely not get a dime from this. This season is absolutely bonkers and I wish your daughter success in finding a school that works for her.
