Do you know how long it takes to get that email? I asked my daughter to watch out for it. She’d choose CSUCI as her backup if that is still an option. Looks like it was last year.
What major?
Each year they re-evaluate which campuses have open spots for additional students and the list changes. CSUCI has been on the list the last few years so probably will be an option this year. The email usually shows up Mid-April. Best of luck to her.

I just got an email that my financial aid decision is ready and AidLink is down too

According to SDSU Flex, they plan to house about 5,600 students for Fall 2021 (compared to the traditional 7,500). If all freshman are required to live in SDSU housing then where are the students going to live? Are some local students going to be allowed to “commute”?
SDSU will be bringing more students, faculty and staff to campus in the fall, with more in-person instruction, activities and housing, respecting public health guidelines.

Any idea if today’s batches are just waitlists and rejections? I got an email about an update on my application but can’t check the portal since it is still down right now.

Looks like it. Waitlist went out first and then rejections a little bit later
The number actually comes directly from San Diego State off the letter attached to my son’s portal page. I couldn’t believe it either until I saw it myself.
i think you may have mistaken enrollment spaces for acceptances (as well as that website)
They got 91,000 applications (total of first year and transfers) and accepted 28,000.
I’m wondering if this is due to deferrals from last year’s Freshman class. Number still seems so low though.
