SDSU Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

@pbcparent @applier2: The problem with redirection is not all campuses will be offered for redirection and campuses like Sonoma State are usually not on the list but due to the lower number of applications this admission cycle, several CSU’s were on the list this year.

In the past, the campuses where an applicant is redirected have been Dominguez Hills, Channel Islands, Bakersfield, Stanislaus and Humboldt.

Thanks! Sounds like it was a good move to have a safety school. It gave me some peace of mind anyway.

Has anyone gotten off the WL? It has been so quiet!

I think all colleges are being cautious with their waitlists since the housing issues are still not resolved. With record number of applicants and Covid related problems, it may be until the State and County determine the dorm capacity for SDSU that they will start utilizing the waitlist.

My advice is to get excited about the school you have SIR’d and if you do happen to get off the waitlist for SDSU, then it is just “icing on the cake”.

Best of luck.

Nope. My daughter did get accepted off the UCSC waitlist this week though. They gave her until tomorrow to decide whether to take the spot. Have not heard from Cal Poly SLO or SDSU yet.

Anyone get off the SDSU waitlist. My daughter is still hoping too. I haven’t heard of anyone yet being accepted from the SDSU wait list. She did last week get an email from SDSU requesting for her mid year senior high school transcript which we hope is a good sign.

I’m still waiting too, but I’m starting to feel comfortable with the school I committed to. I didn’t get an email. Still hoping some amount though.

Had high hopes for SDSU but was rejected without a waitlist offer. Was on my dean’s high honor list, stellar extracurricular based in my major, Associate Degree for Transfer, and even health care work experience. Kind of stunned to be honest. Got waitlisted for UCSD and UCSB though.

For what it’s worth, I’m not an SD local and I know CSU/UC give priority to locals through TAG.

CSU’s give priority to local transfers. UCSD does not offer TAG so not an option for any transfer.

UCSD may not but other UC’s do. Regardless I doubt it impacted their waitlist offer. I’m surprised they even waitlisted me because I thought I was short on a few of their Neuroscience pre-reqs

UCSD has had more leniency regarding major prep completion than other UC’s in the past so it is not that unusual to be waitlisted.

And it depends on the major. Some majors state they require preparation work for admission. Others don’t.

Did anyone get the Your Application Has Been Redirected email today? My D’s application was redirected to Humboldt and she never requested/considered her application being re-directed. This is so weird. Has anyone gotten the same thing?

Mine received this as well, for SFSU. She did not request consideration there. I think it’s just an option, if you were a strong candidate but rejected or waitlisted at the campuses where you applied. I don’t think it means that the waitlist is closed.

Was the email sent tonight?

Yes. Around 9:30pm.

Redirection is automatic.

del.

We got an email today saying that we have opted in for WL and we will hear by July 1. Did anyone else get this email?

Yes we got the same email. My D is on the wait list for elementary Ed major.
