SDSU grad schools as hard to get into as undergrad??

I am really pushing to relocate to San Diego from Illinois (I am freezing as I type). I am applying to SDSU’s MBA program but I was wondering is it hard to get into for out of staters as it is for undergrad? I think it is the best business program in San Diego and SDSU mba holders run San Diego’s businesses (I plan to work there long term). USD has a tiny MBA program and SDSU has a bigger network.

I saw that 91% of the class from the US are from California… about 4% from Midwest. I hope it is because not too many out of staters apply but I have a feeling that it is because this is a CSU school that caters to the SD community holds spots for the locals. I mean, the average GMAT score is laughable (mine is 40 points above and my score isn’t even that good=I scored in the 75 percentile among test takers). My GPA is slightly below school average (I had a quantitative degree). MBA is an MBA for the most part. Even if I were to move back to Chicago, employers would look and see “oh you lived in San Diego, that’s unique” and still hire me with this MBA (I have the resume to back it up).

Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance!

SDSU is hard to get into???

EDIT: You should be fine. Your GMAT is great. There is almost no demand from OOS students to attend SDSU. It is not because of difficult admissions standards. Most OOS students strive for Berkeley or UCLA.

Thanks sentiment. I guess I just want to live in SD for a couple of years and do business in southern Cal.

Crap, I am sending my application materials now but the rolling admissions period was October 2010 to Feb 2011. Since this school is rolling admission, would there be a good chance that the class spots are already filled? Supposidly the school is “highly competitive.”
