SDSU housing. can not understand a single thing .....SUGGESTIONS HIGHLY APPRECIATED !

Hello I am an international student who got admitted in sdsu fall 2014… I could not understand somethings and not find info on somethings on the official san diego state univ. website.

  1. Meal plans are compulsory for freshman but no options for vegetarians…I am a strict vegetarian
  2. The rates are for 9th months . What about the rest of the three months.? How much will they charge not given
3.A question is asked if you are okay if your room mate smokes…Does it really matter since smoking is banned on campus…
  3. DO DOUBLE ROOMS HAVE private bathrooms?

The SDSU website (<a href=“Meal Plans”>Meal Plans) says this about vegetarians:

The rates are only for the academic year, since not all student continue to live on campus over the summer. If you would like to, you’ll have to pay apply separately and pay for a meal plan separately. A google search brought up this: <a href=“Housing and Residential Education | SDSU”>http://newscenter.sdsu.edu/housing/summer.aspx</a> and I’m sure if you look you can find more info.

Even if your roommate doesn’t smoke on campus, they will likely smoke elsewhere, and if they are a regular smoker, I’m sure they will find ways around the ban. They will likely smell like smoke, they’re clothes will smell like smoke, etc. It’s not so much “are you okay with being around smoke?” but a “are you okay with being around a person who will likely smell like smoke, along with their possessions?”. If you’re not a smoker, the safe answer is generally always a “no,” unless you’ve lived with smokers and know you’re fine with it.

I only looked for like 30 seconds, but I couldn’t find anything on the SDSU website saying if they do or do not have private bathrooms. But there are different residence halls, so it could vary depending on hall. I did find this <a href=“Freshman Guide to the SDSU Residence Halls - San Diego State University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/san-diego-state-university/1278827-freshman-guide-to-the-sdsu-residence-halls.html</a> written by a CC member, which may help.

It will also likely be more helpful for you to contact housing/dining at SDSU directly or post in the SDSU forum. And, you know, google is your friend. All of the above information I found with a quick google search, and most questions were answered directly on the SDSU websites.

thanks a lot
