Congratulations on her acceptance! The SDSU nursing program has always been really picky about their students. I currently know of a student who has applied there for this season, and I don’t know the results, but it was one of her top choices.

It’s been a while since I knew people in the nursing program at San Diego State.

From what I recall, it was a really tough program. I also remember that a number of students would say that the professors were very supportive and accessible.

The placements were really good because we have a ton of hospitals and research facilities in San Diego.

There are multiple providers in clinics/SNFs, and depending on the specialty, your placements try to coincide with your experiences.

I don’t know if you need information about the program itself, which I’m limited on right now, or, specifically the San Diego area.

Hello friend, i am unsure if you will see this but can you share her gpa/academic rigor? i am a current highschool student looking for information on the da BSN programs. did you apply to other nursing programs as well?
congratulations!

She had 3.98UW/CSU GPA was 4.24/4.35wGPA. 5/211 students; admitted with 78 credits; doubled up on science for 3 years and math for 1 year; had 2 semesters of Gen College Bio, AP Physics, 4 semesters of college math thru Calc 2 and AP Stats.

She had a very strong resume with ECs and work but CSU doesn’t look at that of course.

She was also admitted to University of South Carolina Honors which allows for direct admit, Clemson, UTK (initially second major then direct admit thru holistic admission,) FAU, USF (FL) Pitt, WVU, Arizona, ASU, Miami of OH but was denied nursing at CSU-San Marcos and rejected at UVA.

Best of luck! Get your applications in early to rolling admission schools! Also, be aware that some schools don’t give you till May 1st to decide but instead put you on a waitlist once their spots are filled. Some of these include USF, FAU and WVU but confirm with each school as you are admitted.
