Here is the Freshman admit stats for the last couple of years. Hopefully by this summer, the 2018 data will be available.

GPA/SAT look within range but with around a 7% acceptance rate, it will be a tough admit. Make sure she applied widely and has 1-2 safety schools on the list.

EC’s are not considered but it would be to her benefit to consider volunteering to get a feel for a Nursing career.

Standards for Direct Entry Admission

Admission to the School of Nursing’s BSN program is highly selective. The Office of Admissions ranks applicants using the Eligibility Index. Students are admitted to the School of Nursing according to rank and the number of positions available. Additional information about ranking and the admissions process for Freshman can be accessed on the Office of Admissions website.

Minimum Admission Requirements

Minimum GPA of 3.0 in A – G coursework
Minimum grades of B in Intermediate Algebra, Biology, and Chemistry with lab courses. If AP or IB level courses were taken in these areas, applicants must have earned a minimum grade of B.
SAT Critical Reading and Mathematics (old version) -or- SAT Evidenced Based Reading and Mathematics (new version) -or- ACT English and Mathematics.

Hi- 4.08 weighted. She was able to volunteer last summer in the maternity ward of our local hospital (put in 40 hours). Not sure on safety school, she doesn’t like the city so no to USF, Point Loma too small and restrictive, UCs would be a far reach. Fullerton, not interested.

She might want to consider Arizona State as a possible safety school and they offer a direct admit program. When it comes to applying to Nursing programs in California, it is especially important to cast a wide net.

okay-thank you
