SDSU Transfer Decisions Thread 2016

@lkbeck93 You could try to appeal your decision with the information you just provided. You can write an essay about the circumstances you are in, i.e. your fathers death. I hope you do get in – SDSU has not been consistent about anything and I agree it is completely frustrating. Best of luck. :frowning:

Hey guys! My status is still pending and One of my friends got rejected yesterday for kinesology. She is claiming that she has reported the wrong number of units on her supplemental application! She reported less than 60 units in total and she thinks that this is why they didn’t accept her! I want to know if you guys put your fall 2015 units only or everything up to fall 2015?
Do you think they’ll let her fix the application?

Sociology major here, still have a pending status . What are my chances if I’ve completed everything but speech ( oral communication).

@noshsev I think everything up to spring 2016 counts. If the decision was solely based on the number of units, I think your friend can appeal (given that she earns 60+ units by the end of spring).

@lenocturne she has completed 100+ units and the reason for her denial was that the major is highly impacted. She spotted the mistake on the supplemental application herself.

@ssm24k do you mean that you did not take a course in the golden 4? If not, then not good. I beleive all uc and csu’s require those 4 to be completed before applying :frowning: this is at least as been said to me by my cc and from all the transfer colleges I visited.

@ssm24k yeah pretty sure you need to complete golden 4 in order to transfer

Hey, just wondering. Does orientation/race play a role into the decision making as well?

@KK456 @muffinpoptarte I’ve completed 3 of the 4 requirements, I could possibly take the last course of the summer before I transfer. I’ve already completed the UC requirements. they don’t need the specific class.

In order to transfer to SDSU, it does require communications. I def would take that course during summer before transferring.

@KK456 Yeah I was asking because I saw that same post. I am just confused what the ad-t means at this point. It is supposed to give priority to students who have earned it. However last year it seemed that a lot of students with the ad-t found out last and a lot didn’t seem to get in. I am pretty bummed, I feel like I’m already doomed even though I’m still pending.

@simplydiana: California public schools banned affirmative action so no race is not considered. They can take into account First generation and socioeconomic conditions (low income).

@KK456 Also about the AD-T verification, schools are supposed to do it online automatically. Maybe the person you talked to didn’t know what you were talking about, however the school verifies it. I went to my school twice to ask about the verification because I was concerned. They told me both times that they verify it online through a website and that I don’t have to do anything.

@mechhcem yeah I was annoyed cause someone from admissions from sdsu said I have the option of mailing in the form or having it verified online so I did the form and now this new person I asked from admissions says its online

@ssm24k @simplydiana I don’t think you’re allowed to take classes over the summer before fall for transferring, everything is supposed to be completed by the spring before transferring in the fall

You have to finish the golden 4 by spring. Counselor told me that they won’t accept it if it is taken in the summer.

@Gumbymom When you say they consider first gen students, do you remember that being indicated on the app? Because I don’t remember that being a box I could click. If so, I would really like that boost.

@Gumbymom @aepaige it might have been on the CSu mentor but I don’t remember for sure, it it was I definitely chose it, I don’t think the supplemental app had anything on it

Does everyone that is rejected get the option of being put on the waitlist?

In other words… has everyone that has a “denied admission” status on their portal also seen the option below to be added to the waitlist?

Any Business Admin majors?
