@mechhcem According to some people in this thread, it gives you priority if you’re first gen. :-/
Being First generation gives you more of a bump at UC’s than CSU’s and according to SDSU’s common dataset it is not considered while at Cal Poly SLO it is considered with extra MCA points. I have not checked each CSU’s common data set but you can google it. The general policy for CSU’s is to serve local applicants along with socioeconomic disadvantaged applicants which would include low income/first generation students. I find that even though the common data set does not show first generation is considered, the CSU’s have outreach programs targeting the First Generation students and the San Diego schools are included.
What was your gpa?
@Gumbymom Oh, wow. You know a lot. Thanks for the information!
I just got an email from SDSU letting me know that ADT decisions start in early April. Sooooo… awesome.
What?? Thats so late!!
Do guys think that having the ADT can actually hurt you?
I feel like everytime we email admissions they keep telling us different dates it’s so annoying! Good luck to everyone!
@aepaige Whaaat ! I can’t wait that long
@mechchem I really don’t know, it’s kind of confusing to me. Some people have commented saying that SDSU didn’t accept any non local ADT Psychology applicants last year. That makes me wonder if they would have had a chance of getting in if they didn’t have the ADT.
I am getting so annoyed with my school! They are making it so difficult to send in my preliminary AD-T verification. Every time I try to ask them/explain they rush me out and have so much attitude. And today this lady claimed she sent my stuff out Tuesday and when I asked if it was specifically the “Preliminary verification” she was like what’s that. Like how is she going to say she sent it and then ask me what it is after. I already have a tiny/0 chance of getting into SDSU since I’m non-local and my school is making the process 100000x more difficult.
@pudge20 yeah that was me who wrote that, When I emailed them back in the fall about Psych AD-T for non local they said none were accepted because there wasn’t space but said that they did accept people for “Liberal Psychology” which idk what that even is, when I tried looking up liberal psych I couldn’t find anything on their website so idk, I’m so worried my AD-T might hurt me more than it would help
They just sent out an official notification to ADT transfer students. Some of you guys probably got the same email if you’re getting an AA-T/AS-T. It says they’re waiting for verification that you’re actually getting the degree before giving us priority consideration.
@KK456 maybe they changed it to applied psychology since that’s what is listed for ADT transfers?
Alright guys see you all in April!
Here’s a copy the email’s contents for any interested.
I spoke with someone in my counseling office at Miramar College who informed me that verification of the ADT is automatic upon completion of a petition to graduate.
Did anyone who didn’t say they have an aa-t get the email. Because I did and I am wondering if I put my regular AS for biology in the wrong spot and it got marked as an AS-T
I just got their email too! Guess we’ll just have to wait another month!
I just got the email smh
So even though we get “priority” we still have to wait an extra month…something doesn’t seem right to me
