SDSU vs UofU

<p>My safeties are tied with each other. If I’m not accepted by Cal (transfer student), I don’t know which one to pick. Both have good and bad points. </p>

<p>SDSU
Pros: in state tuition; warm, inviting geography department; seems many geog grads find jobs easily; fantastic weather, beach; encourages students to study abroad
Cons: reputation as a party school, even though I’ve heard the geography department is more low-key “a different world”; nothing but loans offered as aid; doesn’t have the exact study abroad program I want</p>

<p>UofU
Pros: consistently listed in top-100 schools; not many distractions to studying; 4 seasons; can live with parents (cheap or free) and see grandma often (she is aging); geography department is small, but rated highly and community minded; accepted as honors student; will likely get a transfer scholarship; study abroad, they have the program I want
Cons: out of state tuition for 1 year; ideology of most Utahns - I am very liberal in comparison; winter weather; living with parents again after 15 years ;)</p>
