naming names
I donât think I can read any more articles about Diddy unless theyâre about him being convicted. Reading the accusations is enough to give me nightmares.
Nice argument, except some of the participants were employees who may not have been free to consent. Others were underage and therefore couldnât legally consent.
Nice try.
let the trial and celebrity names begin
I still donât think weâre going to get any names. Kinda like Epstein.
Iâd love to know what the plea offer was, and I suspect it wasnât terribly favorable to Diddy or didnât include all crimes so he was afraid of another trial or state charges.
Iâm glad it is a federal trial so wonât be on Court TV, just a daily summary which is about all I can take.
I think names would have come out in Epsteinâs trial if there had been one.
and so the trial beginsâŠ
I thought about Mr.Combs as he missed the Met Gala last week. Living in jail is pretty bad, but I think it is missing things where he got to be the big deal are an extra punishment. And the theme this year was right up his alley, Dandy Black Menâs fashion.
I found out CrimeCon (like ComicCon but for true crime) is in Denver on Labor Day weekend. I looked up the cost, $400!, and decided that was too much. Then I found out they are looking for volunteers so I applied for that. Iâm sure this trial will be a big part of it.
Verdicts in trial reached.
I think it will be interesting to see how many high power âfriendsâ will stand by him. Will he be invited to the next Met Gala by Anna Wintor? Will Hollywood welcome him back or attend his parties in the Hamptons?
His attorneys argued in the end that heâs a bad guy, a disgusting human, but that he didnât do THESE bad things, and I guess the jury believed that. However, that doesnât mean we all have to welcome him back to society, to buy his (produced) records or support his artists. Sort of like Harvey Weinstein - I try not to support anything that gives him money (although I think heâs given up all rights to residuals).
Not super surprising. Celebrity status and extreme wealth buy you an A++ defense team (ask O.J., oh wait) Iâll be disgusted (but again, not surprised) if he is accepted back into the norm (as distorted as that is) of celebrity life.
And now the judge has used this very argument to deny Combs release on bail, pointing to the fact that his own defense admitted he is a violent, bad man.
