said that the frirst man following her went to the police- claimed he was following her in the mall because he was concerned about her but then left because another mancame up to her and put his arm around her as if he knew her or was helping her.

I don’t think they have tape yet of this supposed second man. So, he may either be making this man up, or if the second man does exist, the first guy showed poor judgment in thinking she was okay and leaving (if he was really that concerned) when he saw some other lone male come up to her like that. Like scholarme , I am not very hopeful either.

Since Uber was mentioned, I thought I’d chime in about charge-a-ride so the UVa parents are aware. Yellow Cab is the taxi service students should use. If a student doesn’t have cash on hand, Yellow Cab lets them “charge” the ride to UVa and the student can settle things up through his or her student account later.

The details for Charge-a-Ride and SafeRide (vans run 12-7am):

That’s a great option Dean J

Sevmom, NBC TV broadcast video this morning of a second man who indeed appeared to have his arm around her. The first guy apparently told the truth, although we all wish he had approached her directly and led her to safety or called 911 from the spot.

Good to know they have tape on him. I hope lots of people are looking at it and someone can identify him.

$50k reward and additional description. <a href=“$50,000 Reward Offered for Info About Hannah Graham's Disappearance; Description of Person of Interest Released”>$50,000 Reward Offered for Info About Hannah Graham's Disappearance; Description of Person of Interest Released;

I sure hope she is found OK. I cannot imagine what her family is going through.

Erin Burnett on CNN and HLN each spent over 10 minutes on this story Thursday evening. One person claimed that police have video from a camera that they have not released, which may tie into the “person of interest.” See a description at Barron’s link above. There also may be some links to a previous kidnapping, and they are reviewing some DNA evidence from a previous kidnapping. Of course, Burnett handled the matter much more sensitively than HLN.

Anybody know where the link is for the video LW is referencing that shows a man with his arm around Hannah? I can’t find it. This is so troubling. The images of her wandering all over by herself late at night are chilling.

sevmom, I don’t think that link exists - everything I have seen indicates they don’t have video of the second man (or at least haven’t released it to the public). At one point I think police indicated it appeared there was someone with her in one of the surveillance videos, but it was actually just her reflection in the glass.

A community search has been organized for Saturday through VA Department of Emergency Management - the search has extended further east from the Mall towards the river area. So sad for her family - the uncertainty would just kill me. I couldn’t bear it.

That’s what I thought too, sabaray. That is why I was confused by LW’s comment. I thought it was just this male they did catch on surveillance following her saying he last saw her with another guy who he says put his arm around her. But they had no tape of that, just his account and description of the guy. The Downtown Mall is a pedestrian mall. I hope they’re also looking at tape from side streets where people could have parked, garages, etc. I’m surprised they can’t find more tape on this. I just got a call from my son who graduated from UVa , . I asked him about McGrady’s and he said he had been there a few times. (she never went in there but was seen outside) but spent more time at places like Boylan Heights, places near The Corner… McGrady’s is really not that near the main Grounds, The Corner area where most of the kids go. Also, not really that near to where she lived or the parties she had been to So, he also was surprised that she was in that area (pub and Preston and then the mall area) alone and said she sounded lost. This really is terrible.

The Mall is not a place I would want to go late at night even as a male. Too many sketchy people around. Fine during day thru dinner.

Crime scene tape at an apartment building.

Oh no. :(

Oh, I can’t imagine being the first man who did nothing. :(

This cant be good.

BREAKING: Charlottesville Police Department to hold news conference at 3PM regarding Hannah Graham

Not having a good feeling about this…

They impounded a car.

They searched a car which led to a search of the apartment building. I read, I think in the Daily Progress, that neighbors reported the police questioning a man who matched the description of the ‘person of interest’.

No, the news on this isn’t going to be good. The best that parents of young women in the Charlottesville area can hope for is that this is this predators last crime, in other words, that this leads to solving the disappearance of those other UVa students and local women going back to 2009.
