<p>My daughter is in top university now, she hates tough competitive culture. She’s top student in high school, hard working, but wish to take it slow in her own comfortable path, instead of cutting throat. Any one can recommend a list of top college not so focused on GPA?</p>
<p>I don’t think there’s any college that is not to some degree focused on grades unless everything is based on a pass/fail or alternative grading system. Any school full of top 10%ers is always going to have people striving for grades, that’s human nature.</p>
<p>That said, there are many, many schools that are more cooperative and less cut-throat, but you’ll need to specify more what you’re looking for - size, location, LAC or university, major, urban/rural, etc.</p>
<p>most strong colleges in the Midwest and West tend to be les cut-throat than those in the northeast</p>
