Searching for the ideal College/University! help!

My SAT is 1880 and my GPA is 3.83

I want to going to study pre-med so I want to go to a school with good undergraduate pre-med program

Offers high financial aid

High 4 year graduation rate

Pretty Diverse college ( preferably more Asian )

Offers alot of study abroad programs

Offers alot of internships

Small class size (around 20)

Small school ( preferably 4000-8000 students… 1000-2000 students is too few and 20000 students is too much! I want to meet more people but not be overwhelmed by huge class sizes.)

High acceptance rate to medical School

matching students with opportunities to work with doctors or in hospitals (this would be a bonus)

Caring Professors who are available and also willing to help students

I have found a few colleges that meets most of the requirements such as Allegheny college, Rhodes College, Kalamazoo College, and Juniata College, but these college are too small (around 1000 students) and arent diverse at all.

THANKS!!!

What state are you from? Some of the regional state campuses of your state may offer smaller environments like you like, along with the rest. For example, my state (NY) has a large number of campuses but a lot of them (Fredonia, Geneseo, Oneonta, New Paltz, Purchase, etc.) have student bodies in the range that you’re looking for.

The colleges I am offering below I am not familiar with the faculty, internship or study abroad offerings - I just know the size and the reputation of the university.

Reaches: These are all places that have all of the characteristics you’re looking for. Not sure about matching students to work in hospitals, but students successfully go to med school from them all the time. All of them also offer decent to great financial aid.

Rice University (~6,000 students)
Tufts University (~10,000 students)
Dartmouth College (~6,000 students)
Case Western Reserve University (~10,000 students)
Brown University (~8,000 students)
College of William & Mary (~8,000; may be more of a matchy-reach)

Matches: Some of these are more reachy-match (Villanova, Rochester) whereas others may be safer (Butler, Arcadia). But their financial aid will range all over the place.

Villanova University (~10,000)
Elon University (~6,000)
Butler University (~5,000)
Emerson College (~5,000)
Tulane University (~12,000, so a bit bigger)
American University (~13,000)
University of Rochester (10,000)
Marist College (6,000)
Marquette University (11,806)
Drake University (~5600)
Loyola New Orleans (4,772)
Loyola Marymount (~10,000)
Arcadia University (~4,000)
Pepperdine University (~8,000)
Bentley University (~5500)
Providence College (~5000)
University of Richmond (~4500)

Also, here are some public colleges/universities that may have what you want, but may not offer you the aid you want.

College of Charleston (~11,000)
SUNY Old Westbury (~4300 students, pretty affordable for OOS residents)
SUNY New Paltz (~8000)

You might want to look at American University in DC and University of Denver in Colorado. Both schools are the size you want, with diverse student bodies. Also, both of these schools are in locations which will give you the chance to do the things you need to do to be a strong med school applicant because there are a lot of hospitals nearby where you could research/intern/shadow etc… Both of these schools would probably be matches for you. For a reach, you might want to add Emory in Atlanta…lots of good opportunities right on campus. A couple of other ideas: Loyola or DePaul in Chicago might work for you as well.

Isn’t this question identical to the others you have already posted?

It is pretty difficult to get the class sizes you want at larger universities.
