SEAS - Engineering at Harvard

Looking at U.S. engineering schools. What's the scoop on Harvard's engineering program?

1) I know it's interdisciplinary and appears a less concentrated track but how does it stack up against other programs, e.g. Cornell, Georgia Tech, Cattech, Stanford.

2) Harvard offers either an AB or SB EGR degree. Does the SB degree, which is ABET recognized, prepare you adequately for the FE (Fund of ERG) exam or would graduate school be necessary first?

3) The curriculum guide refers to 16 or 20 half courses. What is meant by a half course?
