Seasonal/tea party offerings?

If you make egg salad, add a little dijon mustard, a few shakes of hot sauce, and some minced scallions or chives as well as mayo. A pastry cutter–something that you are unfortunately unlikely to have, by the sounds of it  --is a great implement for mincing hard boiled eggs.

I don’t get the worry about being “fussy.” It’s a party. Be festive.

You have received plenty of good ideas but this recipe came in my e-mail today. I thought of you and thought it might give you a little more “help” [A Veggie Venture: Easy-Easy Healthy Holiday Appetizers: Party Rye with Tomato & Cucumber ](<a href=“Easy-Easy Healthy Holiday Appetizers: Party Rye with Tomato & Cucumber ♥”>Easy-Easy Healthy Holiday Appetizers: Party Rye with Tomato & Cucumber ♥)

Thank you Moreover and Consolation! Great tips and nice recipes. I am signed up to make tea sandwiches for a memorial service this Saturday so this is really helpful! Everyone else signed up to bring cookies, but I thought something not sweet was needed.

I used this recipe for the first time at Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. It’s savory, super-easy and quick, looks impressive, and it’s within your budget:

Tomato-Mozzarella-Basil Skewers

Grape tomatoes
Bocconcini (bite-size mozzarella balls)
Balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing
Wooden skewers

Place the mozzarella balls in a bowl and cover with salad dressing. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.

Remove the mozzarella balls from the dressing. Thread onto each skewer:
Mozzarella ball
Tomato
Basil leaf
Mozzarella ball
Tomato

Arrange skewers on a plate. Drizzle with some of the dressing.

Thank you for all of the wonderful recipes and suggestions. I will have to put them away for a rainy day. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the party because I have to help a sick family member this weekend. Much more important than tea sandwiches.
