<p>You mean the Southeast Asian Summer Studies Institute at Madison?</p>
<p>I don’t think it’s as good as going to a particular country and being immersed in its language and culture, but it’s the next best thing-- a bit like the Middlebury summer language programs. It offers instruction in some Southeast Asian languages that are perhaps taught in a handful–if that-- of universities. I believe that there is a history/culture component to the language programs and the instructors are chosen from among instructors at universities that do offer the languages during the regular academic year.</p>
