Seating on Test Day

Were you guys seated alphabetically, in the order that you came in, or chose wherever you sit? I hate sitting in the front because it can get so distracting especially being close to the door the entire test.

I really don’t think it matters - how does being by the door distract you? Anyhow, it’s probably different based upon the location, and there really nothing you can do about it so…

yea for me it wasn’t alphabetical, you choose your seat…the earlier the better.

So far, whenever I’ve taken the SAT or the subject tests, I’ve always been placed randomly. The desks were numbered and I was given a card with a number on it when I came in, and the number corresponded to my desk.

I’m usually in alphabetical order but sometimes it’s just random places.

We usually have the option to switch to an empty spot if we just like it better or something. I usually like to sit in the back, kinda isolated (get distracted easily hahahah) and I like the bigger tables so I usually request to move.

At the test center where I took my subject tests, they gave us randomly assigned seats.

At the one where I took the SAT I, we got to sit wherever we wanted.

I guess there’s not really an official rule about this.
