SEC schools to split $122 million

<p>BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – The Southeastern Conference will split $122 million among its 12 member schools for the current fiscal year, the league announced Friday.</p>

<p>The revenue for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31 is a record for the SEC and represents a 5.1 percent increase from the $116.1 million a year earlier.</p>

<p>The revenue sharing includes money generated by television for football and basketball, the football championship game and the SEC and NCAA men’s basketball tournaments.</p>

<p>In football, the league generated $48.3 million in TV revenues, $23.7 million from bowls, and $13.2 million from the SEC championship game.</p>

<p>In basketball, the SEC made $12.3 million from TV, $4.3 million from the league tournament and $20.2 million from the NCAA tournament.</p>

<p>The average amount distributed to each school was $10.17 million.</p>

<p>The $12.5 million made by teams playing in bowl games was not included in the league revenues.</p>
