Second Ebola patient

To add, it seems far odder to be more concerned with an aid workers right to travel freely for a short amount of time, than to be concerned with serious potential economic impact and risk to affected communities. What a nightmare for already over extended local governments. But hey, it’s just someone else’s money, so who cares?

Lol!

If you can tolerate a little levity, germaphobe Howie Mandel talks about ebola:

<a href=“Howie Mandel & Ebola - YouTube”>Howie Mandel & Ebola - YouTube;

Thus further discouraging healthcare workers from going over to help.

That e-bowling line is getting a lot of mileage.

That bowling alley is probably the cleanest and safest bowling alley in the entire country now as far as picking up germs goes! If I were in NYC and liked to bowl, that’s where I would go! :)

^^^I hadn’t heard it before.

I thought it was refreshing to hear a germaphobe acknowledge that his chances of coming across a very ill ebola patient were essentially nil, instead of seeing hand wringing while worrying about getting ebola from the inside of a bowling shoe.

Those that are most fearful spread their fears throughout society. This only increases the fear as more and more people become fearful. This leads to places like the bowling alley losing business. Then these fearful people complain when the bowling alley takes a financial hit. The financial hit would never take place if people didn 't spread their fears in the first place.

It is those spreading fears that are at fault for any economic hits.

Nrdsb - thanks for the link. Howie is our favorite AGT judge. He is a major germaphobe, yes!

^^^I had never known that about him.

There seems to be a great deal of panic about whether people are panicking. I wonder how this particular fear has affected our handling of this situation.

He has been very open about his longstanding germ phobia. Its been interesting to watch him let some contestants touch him, so I guess he’s come a long way.

^^^I don’t watch much TV, lol, except HGTV and Starz for Outlander.

Nooo, dstark! No talking logically until the panic and hysteria causes the housing price to drop in SF. Then you can go back to being logical.

I am still waiting for a pm that offers me a 20 percent discount on a place in Manhattan because Manhattan is tainted. I am not that interested in the Washington Heights area because that area is too far from the action. I will take a place on the east side near Bellevue. Not too close to Bellevue. I dont want to catch anything. ;)

…

Jym626, lol!

dstark,
He lives in Harlem. When did it become upscale?

Collegealum,
Your posts was great!! LOL! Why’d you delete it?? Great line about ebola not flying coach and whatever you said about bowling-- it was very funny!

I liked the name of the bowling alley the doctor went to: “The Gutter.”

Totally OT:Bowling is not particularly big here. But somehow, DH and I got invited to a bowling party. I’d never bowled before, and DH had not done it since he was a kid. I won’t say what my score was (really really bad). But DH had 9 strikes in a row, until the last frame, where he did a spare! The whole place had gathered around our game to watch the outcome. I asked DH how he did it, and he said “I have no clue.”
