Second "group" interview from Harvard...

Hello all,

I woke up this morning to this email:

Have any of you heard of something like this before? What do you think this means about my chances?

Well it has to mean they’re at least strongly considering you. You may not be their for sure in pick, but you’re ahead of the pack. Have a really good interview, be polite and show strong interest and it could be an acceptance in waiting!

What I’d do for just one interview… :(

Hmm lets see, one of key decision makers in charge of your application (admissions officer) is trekking down from cambridge to your neighborhood. She is travelling 200+ miles. She has thousands and thousands of applications and she can only meet with 20-25 or so students. Do you think this is bad for you. Listen up boys and girls and men and women, any time you get a chance to meet with a decision maker, this can only mean its good for you.

From what i have heard, I hear that of the people invited for second round interviews, any where from 25% to 40% have been admitted in a given year. That percentage seems much higher than 6%.

@classicgirll, haha I’m in the same boat.

Just a heads up, I think her name might be Dara, not Dana.

@dansterans: Just checked. It is indeed Dara.

@n188159. BTW, since New York area subcommittees are over, I can give you a heads up that you’ve probably made it out of subcommittee. Good luck!

WCU, do you know which other subcommittees are over?

@Hawaii4lyfe: PM me with your general location (e.g. state) and I’ll check. I do have a rough schedule that I can reference.

WCU: better check the schedule for the full committee meetings: note the dockets meeting before March 10th. I wouldn’t draw any conclusions one way or the other.

@dar5995: Good catch. Hmm. I’m not sure why they’d have these second interviews after full committee. Would seem like an awful waste of time for them, especially considering such a large number (some 25) for such a small geographical region.

To be honest, I’m now a bit mystified.

You woke up to this email? Are you sure this wasn’t in your dreams?

If the email actually says “Dana Granoff” instead of Dara, - maybe someone’s trying to lure you to a remote place on a Saturday morning. Be careful

The email did read “Dara” and not “Dana.” My apologies. The interview is scheduled at a large public high school somewhere on Long Island. I’m still trying to make some sense of it.

Never heard of second group interviews . Is this a new thing ?

@n188159- How did that second “group” interview play out?

I’m interested in knowing too.

■■■■■ alert?

It appears that the ■■■■■ Subcommittee, is still in session.
