Second semester grades (conditional admission)

Assuming I get below a 3.0 gpa, is it guaranteed rescinding?
My course load is much higher than previous years and I had bad mental health.

You are an exceptional student if you got in early, I doubt it. However, I’d recommend talking to the Office of admissions, explaining that there have been other issues going on, and you can ask for their help. Call from a separate phone if possible, so you remain anonymous until you are sure of what will happen.

No D’s or F’s and no more than 2 C’s. You would need to contact admissions with an explanation prior to submitting your final HS transcripts. The 3.0 GPA is unweighted and the requirement has been historically for all of Senior year, not just the semester.

do you mean historically as each semester 3.0 unweighted, or each semester is calculated separately?
I have a 3.4 first semester, so that would average it out.

Edited:

According to the conditions of admitted posted by @SunSteel, it is a 3.0 GPA for each term (need to clarify with admissions if it is weighted or unweighted) and anything less than a C.

Should this be UC UW, UC weighted Capped, or UC weighted Uncapped?

My understanding it is Unweighted 3.0. UC GPA’s only used 10-11th grades not 12th grades so they want you to maintain a B average Senior year.

They may have changed the conditions of admission but does it state 3.0 GPA on their conditions of admission? Again, I do not have access to their conditions of admission anymore so I am just going by what the previous year’s contract stated.

If you want clarification, email admissions.

Thank you for posting the conditions of admission.

The only thing I’m particularly concerned about is the “each term”.
The other question I have is I am currently taking a berkeley extension course (Calc 3), my second semester of senior year.
This would be factored into my senior year second semester gpa, right?
Is it frequent that berkeley rescinds people that do not meet the 3.0 GPA condition?

I have not seen UC Berkeley rescind other than for D’s or F’s Senior year.

So worst case, even though I should try hard to keep my grades up(and will likely have a 3.0+), if I end with a 2.8 this semester, would I be okay after filing an update?

That is up to admissions on what they will do but I would get confirmation on whether the GPA is unweighted or weighted.

I just want to follow up and see if Berkeley classes taken concurrently that I reported (UC Berkeley Extension Calculus III second semester) will factor into my second semester GPA and “qualify” for that 3.0 gpa requirement.

If they are UC transferable then yes they will factored into the 2nd semester GPA.
