So the essay prompt number 2 for the UC application is definitely important considering it’s your chance to highlight your qualities. Well I procrastinated terribly hard and ended up submitting a loosely edited supplement essay from another college that was open ended. Reading example essays from online, it seems all the accepted essays are really straightforward and to the point. Mine aren’t. They’re more, I dunno, UChicago esque, less frank and outright? I don’t think it’s what Berkeley is looking for and I don’t feel like I answered the prompt.
I know it’s too late now, but has anyone every been accepted or heard of acceptances for applicants who had a not so great personal statement? I’m OOS, applying for CLS, with decent stats, received a letter of recc request.
