I am a dual citizen of Israel and the US, and am currently completing my mandatory service in the IDF (Israel defense force). I applied to Princeton two years ago and was placed on the waiting list. I knew at the time that if I were admitted, I’d have to defer in order to complete my service. I am now nearing the end of my service and Princeton is still my top choice school. I would like to apply again (early decision) with the intention of beginning college in the fall of 2015. Will having applied already and been put on the waiting list negatively effect my chances of begin accepted? Should I consider applying to other schools of a similar caliber?

I would appreciate any advice on the matter. Thanks in advance!
