Second Undergraduate degree

Is it possible to get a second undergraduate degree from a different school?

I was under the impression that as long as the second undergraduate degree was in a different field, then it was okay…

Yes, at some schools you can. Why not get a masters in the field you’re interested in, that is if it is not to far afield from your first undergrad major?

Nippon: I did 2 yrs JET in Aioi, Hyogo-ken, and one yr in Tokyo (lived Tachikawa) coaching for The Princeton Review.

I’ll be graduating from Grand Valley State University with a BA in International Relations and an East Asian Studies minor.

What I want to do is Sustainable Construction… I came to this conclusion during my study abroad in Japan (that would be about two weeks ago).

That’s pretty far from the field I’m interested in. The reason I don’t want to go straight to graduate school is because I don’t have the necessary base for the field of sustainability/construction management.

the reason i am looking at a second undergraduate degree is because i have no debt from grand valley.

Many years ago I did two different undergraduate degrees at two different schools, separated by several years. The first was in history, the second in biochemistry; I could not have gone directly into biochem as a graduate student, since I didn’t have sufficient math or science background to do so. There was no problem doing the second degree. Each school will have different rules, and the number of courses required will depend on your particular case. In my case, I had way more humanities, social sciences and languages than needed for the second degree, so my program was almost entirely math and science courses.

You can get 2 degrees. I know someone who got a bachelor’s in English, and another in engineering.
