Secret Service Questions "Dangerous" Student

<p>A fourteen year-old California student was question for “threats” against Bush she made on Myspace. I guess some of us may need to be careful when we post our feelings about our current president here on CC.</p>

<p>Although she did remove the offensive material on her own once she found out it was a crime, I agree that the secret service should have followed up. I also believe they should have questioned her only in the presence of her parents. I don’t like Bush. I personally think he’s an idiot, but I don’t wish him harmed or dead. Children often say things in the heat of the moment that they neither understand nor mean. As adults, we hope we have matured and are able to think before speaking or posting something. The girl has learned her lesson and hopefully her classmates and others have learned from it, too.</p>

<p>it is so comforting they spent all that time checking this girl out…feeling so much safer, considering that only 5% of cargo containers are ever checked…yep indeedy, good use of resources here</p>

<p>The only fallacy is, since less people thought Clinton was a stupid ■■■■■■■ compared to Bush (at least later on in his term), it is therefore conclusive that less people would have made such ridiculous threats anyway.</p>

<p>The story is yet another excellent example of what can happen when kids (or adults for that matter) stupidly post on Myspace and other Internet sites. Parents may want to show the story to their kids.</p>
