Any tips? Hints? Secrets?

Go to pub med,

pull up some full studies on a topic you might have some interest in, some knowledge, you can get lucky and be able to read the entire study/design/conclusion. Get a solid handle on what the study set out to prove/disprove, read the parts that discuss the study, the conclusion. Just understand how to read graphs charts.

Spend a lot of time on Google Scholar.

I just treated science like the reading section. I got a 29 on it, so that was good considering I am from an SAT state and I never really practiced for the test. It is small in comparison though to my 34 reading score.

I got a 36 on the science section. Basically, you should never ever read the passages (maybe skim). Go to the questions first and then look in the corresponding tables/graphs. (You could skim the passages if you have no idea what is what). All the answers are right there in the tables and you don’t really need prior knowledge or anything…It’s just like the reading section, only with numbers and graphs.

Yeah, when I took the ACT a little over a year ago the Science was so overwhelming, not that it was so hard but that there wasn’t enough time to answer the questions. I recall that I totally skipped 2 whole science sections, I might have filled in random bubbles after.
I was really surprised when I got a 26 subscore. I’d typically be upset, but compared to what I expected it was better than my wildest dreams. But like dvm258 it was bad comared to my 35 reading subscore.

I think that CmPrdian method is good. They don’t give you enough time to read the scientific information then answer the questions. When I take the test again I’ll follow that method.

Thanks for the help
