On the UC application there is an “About You” section which I personally think should be re-labeled as “Your Financials”

Is skipping this section a bad idea? It seems like none of this information is mandatory… yet I don’t want to have my application look incomplete or lacking valued information.

Is skipping the About You section a bad idea?

My current economic situation wouldn’t warrant me to much financial aid opportunities however when I file Fafsa next march I’ll be an independent of my parents… So I really do not feel like mentioning my Father makes nearly 200K a year… especially since through bad investments we struggle just to stay afloat.

Any thoughts?

how about the section for activities and awards?
what if i have no work experience? should i leave it blank?

I think your FA ultimately depends on what you put in the FAFSA…but I’m a bit iffy about that section too…I’m not sure why it’s necessary…

I’ll call the admissions office at a few of the UC campuses and see what they say I guess… but they’re probably only going to feed me back some pre-scripted rhetoric… I’ll post back and let you know if I hear anything useful

if we shadow a dentist do we put it under Extracurricular or Volunteer?

Id say that’s more of an internship/ job experience

If you read what it says above each section of the Activities and Awards, that should clear up any confusion about what to enter where.
