Yes. Idk whats up with me today

You prefer BC? Boston College? Or do you mean BU?

Ok this whole Boston/Buffalo thing is driving me nuts lol ill drink some coffee and revisit that

What do you think my chances are at UPitt and Mich Ann Arbor

Pitt was suggested to me in the original thread, i liked it but it didn’t initially come to mind i forgot abt it idk why

My cousin currently studies at Mich, he wants to be an anesthesiologist. I regularly keep up with him, he wants me to attend and gives me advice. But its still a reach

“Floors” were not large, and bathrooms were across or down the hall. She had 8 dorm mates in her first year. Senior year she lived in dorm hall of 6 women with a shared hall bathroom. Single rooms, but close together. They watched over each other and shared a large communal kitchen.
She was “famous” for her decor and had tour groups coming to her Hawaiian and SOCal surf-themed dorm room. Family in Hawaii sent her tiki items.

If you are a high school junior, I’m going to make a suggestion for now…and until about the 15th of January.

Please take a break from this college search stuff. Go out and enjoy some time with your family and friends. You can revisit this college stuff with a fresh look in a couple of weeks.

Pitt is a great school and I would definitely apply. Michigan is a a tough admit OOS but you can certainly apply. You also need to see if these schools are affordable.

I agree with thumper. Take a break and enjoy yourself!

Yeah im a high school junior

I have crazy anxiety about my future that has definitely gotten better but still is there.

I did a very good job forgetting about it when i was given the same advice on the original thread. Not really forgetting, more like leaving it alone. I focused on my hobbies and spent a lot of time with my friends and family. But at my Christmas Dinner, i was swarmed by relatives asking about my college search and I had to give them answers which caused me to dip into it

I spoke with my guidance counselor at the start of December about my “addiction” and she said she was considering banning me from naviance if my mental health worsened but she didn’t because i improved

Familiarize yourself with the several ways bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) programs handle admission and progression:

  1. Direct admission as frosh to BSN program. Usually highly competitive, at least compared to the school overall. Be careful to check for high weed-out college GPAs (found in the academic progression section of the nursing handbook – can range from the low 2.something to the high 3.something).
  2. Secondary admission to the BSN program. Often requires applying to pre-nursing as a frosh, which is often more competitive than the school overall. Secondary admission after the first few semesters is typically competitive with college GPA being one of the main (but not necessarily the only) factors. Some may be so competitive that only those with 3.9+ college GPA have a chance at secondary admission. There may be some that automatically admit with a high enough college GPA – these would be equivalent to direct frosh admit programs with the same college GPA as the weed-out GPA.
  3. ADN / RN → BSN program. Typically for those who have an associates degree in nursing (ADN / RN), often from a community college. Note that ADN programs at community colleges are often competitive admission, unlike other community college programs. Typically two years after completion of the ADN / RN, for a total of four years of school.
  4. Second bachelor’s degree or accelerated BSN program, for those who already have a bachelor’s degree in another subject. Typically two years, for a total of six years of school including the first bachelor’s degree. This is a path into nursing if you do some other bachelor’s degree first.

Check out Auburn, Clemson, and University of Tennessee. All have very good nursing-biology programs. All give some variety of out of state merit scholarships.

I think you are a strong student. I would take the time to decide if you really want nursing/CRNA (sounds like you do, at least right now) and if so you should take a look at the list of schools that are direct entry. You will find it here.

Keep in mind, as noted above, that acceptance to DE nursing is typically more competitive than the overall school acceptance rate. If you choose wisely I think you have a chance!

I would add DE programs as well as SUNY etc.

However…take a break now and enjoy the rest of your time off.
