Selecting An Audition Song For "west Side Story"

<p>Wanted some advice on selecting an audition song for “West Side Story.” I’m a tenor, 15 years old, and will be auditioning for a role as one of the Jets. Any ideas?</p>

<p>You want something classic MT that shows a legit voice written between 1940 and 1965. What have you got in your rep that suits that description?</p>

<p>JIJane is right; and to narrow it down a bit more, stick with something up-tempo and youthful. I’m thinking of something like…Miracle of Miracles from Fiddler, She Loves Me from She Loves Me, All I Need is the Girl from Gypsy. There are tons more songs like that. Good luck.</p>

<p>You seem like the Baby John type. Look at “She Likes Basketball” from Promises, Promises. Maybe bring it up a few keys.</p>
