Selective Ivy League Majors/Concentrations

What are the selective majors/concentrations/programs offered in the Ivy League?

Please list one not on this list…I’d greatly appreciate it!

Harvard - History of Science, Comparative Study of Religion, Visual and Environmental Studies, History and Literature, Social Studies

Yale - International Studies, Ethics Politics and Economics

Princeton - Woodrow Wilson School; Finance Certificate

U Pennsylvania - International Studies and Business, Nursing and Healthcare Management, Life Sciences and Management, Management and Technology

I don’t really understand what you’re asking. The Ivies offer tons of majors, concentrations, and programs and they’re all selective.

Your life is doomed if you do not go to an Ivy League, little know fact.

^^ That’s the motto lived by many CC’ers…

The OP is asking about those majors which you have to apply for separately, once you’re already a student.

Yale: Creative Writing (a concentration within the English major), Architecture

Fiancial Engineering at Clolumbia SEAS and Creative Writing in Columbia’s College (i think)

coolman123, I think the OP was clear but I was referring to majors/programs/concentrations that you have to apply and be accepted to once you are a students that actually rejects people or honors type programs for freshmen applicants (i.e. Huntsman in Wharton; BME at JHU would be an example if it were an Ivy…).

You don’t apply to Huntsman once you are a student at Wharton… You apply as a high schooler. I am not sure what you’re saying.

yeah the Penn ones listed are special programs that you must specifically apply to BEFORE you are in the school.

Some majors do have a more aggressive set of prerequisites than others. For example, the IR major requires several classes and a minimum GPA in them, as well as a minimum cumulative GPA, and an interview with an IR dept member to be admitted into the major.

Other majors like communications require, um, a pulse… And that can be waived through your advisor
