You don’t say whether you are a senior this year. If so, you have a lot of work yet to do. If not, it looks to me like your time would be well spent this year examining your preferences. The schools you list are vastly different in many ways and it’s unlikely they’d could all be a good fit for you. If you are planning to apply to HYPSM, you will need a short list of schools beneath that level that are a great fit for your personality, academic interests and lifestyle. Think about what you want out of a school more than just whether the school wants you. I’m sure you’ve heard this before because you’re obviously at a school that has strong counselors, but you really need to think about fit. Get a handle on whether you want a large or small student body, whether you’d be comfortable in large introductory classes, living in a city or small town, on campus all four years or living on your own, greek or not, athletics, climate, etc.

You look like a strong contender at all, but coming from the HS you describe which I’m guessing is an elite private, much will depend on who else is applying such as athletes, legacies and development.

niceday: I am a senior. Other than Wash U, all the schools I listed above have strong science and humanity programs. Undecide major so I want schools with many options. That is why I did not list Cal tech, Olin or Mudd.

Redroses: Yes, it is an elite high school. I am worrying about the competition from my school. I have no hooks.

There are many strong students (for example, close to 30% of the graduating class will be national merit semi finalists). I am sure I am in the top group.
