Selective service and financial aid confusion!

Is it true that I must apply for slective service to receive federal financial aid? And also, what kind of loan would be the best to take? I am an undergraduate at NYU. I have to pay around $24,451 (minus grants and scholorships).

“If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. It’s the law.”

Even if you don’t apply for federal aid – you still have to register. It is easy to do – you can do it at any post office or online:

If you have not registered for the selective service, you are ineligible for federal financial aid.

The best type of loans are the stafford and perkins, if you qualify and are awarded those loans.
