Self expression at BS

so i was wondering, i have my septum pierced and am planning to get my lip pierced as well and i was wondering if most BS have rules against facial piercings and stuff? i also like to dye my hair unnatural colors sometimes so if anyone knows if this may be an issue plz let me know!

I doubt they have something against the rules except certain strict schools. For example at PEA when I toured and visited for a concert, I saw several students with piercings.

My older son’s all-boys BS definitely had stricter rules about that stuff. But many schools do not.

Usually any rules on these type of things would be in the student handbook which should be available on the schools website.

Plenty of fun hair colors, piercings, and even a few tattoos at Proctor. Their dress code also basically says “would your parent let you out of the house wearing that?”

Different schools have different rules, but I double this will be an issue at most for much of the day.

With that said, it’s not unusual for there to be restrictions in certain environments when it could interfere with safety for you or others – in a sports setting, in a wood shop, etc. Hair color isn’t an issue - loose hair or dangling jewelry could be.

Check out some of the school insta pages – you may even get ideas on expression!

Depends on the school…. Andover, you can go to class dressed as a “Furry” which is why my son applied;)

Exeter, we saw students with piercings. Pjs seem very popular for all…

Deerfield has a dress code but you can get around gender norms for nonbinary.

So it range…
