Self improvement/self actualization!

Hi Everyone,

So I have this crazy dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur! Currently, i have one last year studying finance at the University of Maryland. I would like to know what i can be doing currently in order to achieve that goal? Of course, I want to be the best person i can be in college…so I’ve been reading, working out, improving myself socially and enjoying new hobbies…but what else can i be doing to improve myself? And specifically, what can I be doing currently to learn about business in order to one day attain my dream?

if you’re mainly looking at self actualization and not what you can learn in the business world to make you more sucessful, i highly suggest, no require you to dive into existentialism.

any books you suggest dealing with existentialism?

Maybe you should find some entrepreneur forums? Start meeting people and making connections that could benefit you in the future. Try to find a mentor who can tell you how to prepare and what to expect.

Personally, I don’t see the purpose of delving into existentialism.

You bring up a great point! Some of the great business leaders of the 20th century had business mentors that guided them through the perils of entrepreneurship. How would you suggest going about this? Should I pull a P. Diddy and call up a top executive or CEO and see if could do an internship personally through him? (I’m actually being serious) That’s what he did, and after months and months of car washing, ***** work and some reasonable work such as finding new talent he was promoted to be the young exec yada yada yada.

What do you guys think?

OP: watch the movie I heart huckabees. It introduces a lot of the elementry ideas of existentialism

and make sure you focus on the business executive character (jude law) who took the protagonist’s job in the film. I think you could benefit from how he changes throughout the movie.

thatssickedude22, again, you’re asking the wrong people how to do this lol. Doing bold things like that is probably what it’s going to take to be successful and get yourself discovered, but you have to remember that everyone else with your dreams is probably thinking the same thing. You better be prepared with something special to offer, some convincing reason why this person should trust in you.

Again, though, there might be better ways of doing these things. Just do a google search for “entrepreneur forums,” would be my starting place :).
