Self-Study AP Economics?

How difficult is it (say, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being hardest) to self-study Micro/Macroeconomics? Also, would using a Princeton Review book be enough to get a 5? Or would I need to use the Mankiw textbook? Thanks!

It's an easy test and PR is definitely enough. I used 5 steps to a 5. I studied Macro via a course and I thought I got a 4 or a 5, and I studied Micro the day before and I'm pretty sure I did good and at least a 3.

Depends, some people just get it, while it takes more explaining for others. I self studies AP Econ and got a 5, but again, I "get" it.

Do you get it?

I began reading the Microeconomics section in the PR book yesterday and everything made sense, so yes, I suppose I "get it". It seemed fairly easy so I want to know if that book is all I need to get a 5. My goal here is to get college credit (I'll be a senior).

An0maly, would you recommend 5 steps to a 5 or PR if you could only choose ONE book for self-study?

Use Mankiw and 5 Steps and you will have the tools you need for a 5.

5 steps to a 5. If you properly read it then the tests are easy 5's IMO. Some people definitely "get it" much faster than others though.
