Self-Study for AP help

Do you think it would be possible to self study for 4 AP courses while also taking 4 AP classes, and also what books are good for the self study ones ( I was thinking Barrons)? The classes would be:
AP Classes:
English Language
Biology
Computer Science A
United States History
Self-Study:
Computer Sciences AB
Statistics
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Nothing is impossible. It is very possible. Just be warned though, you are going to have to put some time and effort to get 5’s on all of them.

Computer Science AB: Barron’s (This is the ONLY book that is good for it imo)
Statistics: Barron’s (This is an AWESOME book)

I think my comments were worthless, but that is my valid opinion on those prep books for those tests. As for the econs, I can’t really recommend.

For the econs, I would go with PR + Barrons. Both books contain micro and macro, but I think they work well together, emphasizing the right concepts. Definitely a great combination, especially for self-study, and will help you be on your way to getting 5’s.

Doable, though taking Bio and History together might not be the best choice. What grade level are you in now?

I am going to be a Junior next year I have to take APUSH because that is the next class for me otherwise I would have to drop to regents =X And I am taking Bio because I already had a high average in Honors (98 unweighted 101 weighted) and I know the teacher so I don’t think that would be a problem. But you guys do know better than me. Thanks for the answers.

Bio and US History are both reading-intensive. Since you have another year, couldn’t you move bio to senior year?

I think APUSH and Bio are definitely doable in the same year, but you’ll have to work really hard. Both are very memorization-based classes, and that’s a LOT of information to memorize in a single year. It would be better to spread the two across two years, but you could do it if you worked hard.

I would but I can’t because in senior year I am taking AP Chem., AP Physics, AP English Lit, AP World,AP Spanish, AP Calc and along with my other classes I already have a 10 period day. Plus next year is the AP Bio teachers last year and I really want him for my teacher because he makes it really easy to understand.

I know how you feel. I took AP Biology the last year my teacher was teaching it. I’m glad I did because he ROCKED.

All the best luck to your endeavor of US History and Biology. I’m sure you can do it.

Wait how would you take CS A and do the AB exam as well? In our school they were held at the same time, in the same place, separated by one row of empty chairs.

I am going to talk with my AP coordinator so hopefully they will let me take them both i think you just take a late exam if they are at the same time though.

Yeah, sometimes the teacher does make all the difference. Since you really want your current Bio teacher, go for it!

If it doesn’t work as well as you like during the year, you could always drop one or two of your self-studies and still keep your schedule very rigorous.

EDIT: You can’t take A and AB exam the same year (I read it somewhere on collegeboard). Take the A class in school, self-study AB, and take the AB exam. AB covers A too.

hey dssp2010 thats a lot of work…4 ap courses and 4 self-study!!!

Don’t you think you can do better on 4 if u just focused on them??

Does anybody have any studying tips for the AP Computer Science A exam? I am sooo confused right now!!
