i want to know how hard it is to truly self study for an ap. i have o.k. test scores (5,4,3), and i generally do very well in the social studies. How do you do it? do you buy a practice book from barron’s or kaplan a couple months before, and just read their summary? can someone help me please?

prep book with one night of study for a 4, prep book with 2-3 nights of study for a 5.

Are you serious?

Well thats how self study AP’s worked for me. Self Study macro in one night = 4.

okay, well i am not superman like you, so…how much time does it take a John Q. like me to study? ryan2288 you didn’t really help me. why do you just flaunt your success? pompous, arrogant…and other stuff.

Its not arrogance, anyone can do it. The PR book in itself is easy enough to study out of to get a 4. This is because AP tests are graded on a massive curve. Now if you have some kind of inferiority complex to the rest of the people on this site then you should reserve a week of time to study for it. It really is not that tough of a test.

I wouldn’t equate feeling doubt about scoring a 4 with one night of study before the test to an “inferiority complex.” But, i think i will self-study, but at least a month or so before.

I have nearly no free time, so if I were to self-study for an AP exam, I’d have to start at least 2 months in advance…
