what are the easiest sat IIs to study for? i have taken apush and now im taking ap euro and ap lit. what books should i prep with? im a senior right now so when is the last test date before i apply to UCs?

also i forgot. i want to take ecology bio and ush or something else. the last time i took a bio class was freshman year so i dont remember much. is that normal that people self study there minds out instead of taking an ap course?

I would guess that the easiest SAT IIs overall are Literature and Math Level 1 (though it’s better to take Level 2). I’d recommend that you take one or both of those, as well as World and/or U.S. History and, if you’ve taken a language for at least two or three years, that language.

Literature is not an easy test o_o; well there’s not much you can study for other than taking practice tests, but getting above 700 is pretty good already.

I recommend math level 2, curve is so much higher, and it looks better.

December is usually the latest you can take the SAT IIs and still send them in.

The SAT Subject Tests cover things that would be taught in an honors or AP level class. So you shouldn’t take Bio-E unless you took AP Bio (AP Environmental Science won’t cut it). Also UCs don’t accept Math Level 1, only Level 2.

I actually don’t think honors classes will cut it either. They’re supposed to be right in between regular and AP, but in reality, they’re usually just a bit more difficult than regular. Regular and honors use the same book. I guess it depends on the school, but this is the general conclusion I’ve come to after talking w/ people who’ve taken honors.

I took the U.S. History test last year after taking APUSH. I didn’t cram a lot, just looked at some notes the day before, and I got 730. You should review a bit more than I did though if you took it last year and forgot a few things, because I took it around the time of the AP test so the information was still in my head. I agree with Aquawater98, the Lit test seems like it should be easy, but it’s actually really difficult if you haven’t studied for it. Since you’re in AP lit, though, that should teach you enough to get through it with the help of a study book. I always use the Princeton Review, it’s my favorite study book for SAT IIs. PR teaches you all the concepts and not more information than you actually need, which I’ve found to be the case with some other books. I even took the Chem SAT II after taking normal Chem last year - not AP, not even enriched/honors - so I had to teach myself a few of the concepts out of that book, but I got a 730 on that test too.
Also, most schools will tell you either on their website or if you call or email them what the latest test date they’ll accept SAT scores from is. It can vary from college to college.
