How do you self study for an exam? I would talk to my guidance counselor, but she previously discouraged me from self studying (no one has done it in the school before)…

Can I just register for the test online, and show up on the test date?

If anyone has previously self studied, how have you done, and what exam did you take?

It’s best to sign up at your school. Talk to your counselor, teacher or administrator.

As for no one having done it before, you can be the first =). Psychology, Statistics and Economics seem to be the easiest to self-study for. Get yourself a good review book and maybe try to borrow a textbook from school.

When I self-studied I still had to sign up through my school, and they administered the test (it was me sitting in an empty classroom with a guidance counselor staring at me for 3 hours . . . gulp). Which exams are you thinking of? I did English Language and US Gov and found them both to be quite easy with a good prep book.

I took my self-studied exams at a private school. During the test, everyone except me was wearing their school uniform, so I stood out. It was a weird experience.
