Self taught APs?

I’ve read some threads and it seems like many sophmores/juniors self taught certain AP classes. Who has attempted this before? How was the process and the results? How was the school involved?
My school’s structure prevents the students from taking APs until junior year…

Well, I only took one ap class, chemistry, my junior year, and it was only because everyone expected one of the best teachers in school to teach it, but instead she sold out on us to take an administrative job to get more money, but anyway. So we had this teacher who was completely weird and to cut a long story short he burned two students in a lab and was immediately fired. So, I took it upon myself to self-teach chemistry [especially since a replacement was not found until early March, so…] which I did by outlining Brown/Lemay and using PR to supplement for anything I didn’t understand or more obscure concepts, so I ended up with a five so it was well worth that ridiculous amount of studying.

Solution:

Tell your school to change their policy. If they decline, go monkey style and throw poo at them.

Also, don’t worry about that whole junior year policy, we have it in our school and really didn’t hinder any of us from be successful, though granted we ended up having a very heavy schedule our senior year [5 AP’s myself wiht one or two hitting six themselves], so I guess you just have to work crazy hard your last year of high school, but other than that it’s really not too bad of a policy. Though if you want to self-study any AP course before junior year, they [the school] really can’t stop you from doing that so you might as well if you feel the need to.
