<p>I just sold my baby grand piano on Craigslist last week. I insisted on cash only. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t use Paypal. I didn’t realize there were Paypal scams. </p>

<p>Wow, scary that they murdered the person who was trying to sell the car. I had never even considered that when we sold my car. H & I both showed up in public places to meet any prospective buyers and only accepted cash. I think we got about $2500 or so for it many, many years ago.
Sad how many scammers there are out there, trying to make a “quick buck.” You do have to be aware and be careful!</p>
<p>I’m glad I didn’t see that story about the “car for sale” murder. We just sold the old minivan through craigslist to the second person that responded to the ad. H went out on the test drive with the guy. Then we all went to the bank, where we deposited his cash (I was more worried about counterfeit $) and had the bank notarize the title transfer. It all went so smoothly.</p>
<p>I also sold some antique dining room chairs this week using craigslist. </p>
<p>VeryHappy and I did some craigslist shopping earlier this month. We found some great deals for my son’s new apartment. VeryHappy was able borrow a friend’s vehicle so we could move the pieces. I am forever indebted to her

<p>My S bought a CL car. We met in a parking lot, test drove, thought for a few days, then met him at his home where we picked up the car. </p>
<p>I bought a CL car, from a young family. Went to their house, test drove, gave a check as deposit while I took it to my mechanic a day later. They accepted a personal check, which is less an issue in my small city. No issues, very pleasant, both experiences. </p>
<p>But, I always try to establish a rapport of some sort with anyone buying or selling goods. Would walk away from any marginal feeling situation, or suggestion of isolated meeting that might be dangerous.</p>
<p>Just curious Toledo and VH…what did you buy? Willing to share??</p>
